2012/2013 WYSEF Calendar

June 

  • June 22-23 Mountain Bike Biathlon. Saturday-Sunday, Sprint-Pursuit format. Grab the bike & hit the Rendezvous trails for a few laps and shooting on the new biathlon range!  All ages and abilities welcome!  Click here for more info.

September

  • September 28 Pine Needle Stampede, Half Marathon running race on the Rendezvous Trails!  5k & 10k distances to boot, and a FUN 2k Kids race.  Click here for more info.

  • WYSEF Annual Meeting

November

  • West Yellowstone Ski Swap.  Buy, sell, or donate winter gear.
  • November 27-30 Yellowstone Ski Festival.  A celebration of cross-country skiing.  Lessons, free demos, evening activities, kids camp, races, and more! www.yellowstoneskifestival.com
  • November 29 WYSEF's Annual Ski Raffle. 
  • November 30 Ernie's Junior Ski Race.

December

  • Volunteer Party.  Hosted by WYSEF and the Yellowstone SKi Festival.  Thank you for your support!
  • December (date tbd) Spam Cup#1, 2k, 7.5k, 15k Classic Race. 11am Start.  Fun citizen race open to all.  Winners received a SPAM Trophy and bragging rights.
    • $10 registration fee (trail pass required and not included in race fee)
    • Day-Of registration at the Rendezvous Trailhead Building

January

  • January (date tbd) Spam Cup #2  2k, 7.5k,15k Freestyle Race 11am start

  • January (date tbd) Free Ski Day 
    • Rendezvous Trail fee waived and free ski lessons provided by WYSEF. Also Try Biathlon Day(!), sponsored by Altius Handcrafted Firearms.  Hands on learning for this unique sport. Rifles and ammunition provided.  Meet at the Biathlon Range anytime between 11am-2pm. 

February

  • February (date tbd) Spam Cup #3:

    • Location:  TRAILHEAD BUILDING
    • Registration:  9:00-9:45am

WYSEF decided to shake things up for the final Spam Cup of the season!  Teams of up to 4 people will compete in a pursuit style relay with the first 2 legs skied Classic and the last 2 legs skied Freestyle and each leg is 5k in distance.  Carefully selected (or crafted) batons will be provided for each relay team.  If you're not a team player, enter in the 20k individual category.

Start, finish, and relay points will be at the trailhead area for optimal viewing and cheering.

Awards (one-of-a-kind cans of Spam) will be given for the following first place finishers:

Mixed Mens/Womens Team, All Mens Team, All Womens Team, 1st & 2nd Male and Female Individual Finishers

and...SPIRIT Awards (to be determined by our faithful volunteers and race organizers.)

 

  • February (date tbd) Taste of the Trails.  Ski or snowshoe around a short course and delight in a progressive meal with friends and family. Click here for more information

  • February (date tbd) Moonlight Ski. Meet at the trailhead building at 6pm for a ski under the stars.

March

  • March 8 Yellowstone Rendezvous Race.  Participate or volunteer in West Yellowstone's only marathon ski event. www.rendezvousrace.com
  • March 9 Youth Ski Festival.  Have fun on skis with your kids!  Bring the camera for tons of fun!! Click here for more info.
